I am now taking in $90/day deposit from registrants for our Trip to Oroville Growing Grounds in February 10 and 11, 2024. The deposit goes towards purchase of tree/s. Saturday dig is for deciduous trees; Sunday is for conifers. More information is available at www.lotusbonsai.com.

Rebs Show Highlights

I had the opportunity to attend the first day of the Redwood Empire Bonsai Society (REBS) 2023 show, featuring Ryan Neil. The atmosphere was very lively, as members from clubs all around the Bay Area and vendors from all over the state attended. It was a fantastic show that I hope all were able to attend.
Ryan Neil discussed a wide variety of topics as he styled a pygmy cypress provided by Bob Shimon. He talked about the importance of calcium in bonsai, how bonsai can be used to save the world through agronomy and science, and asked us, “How many years of age can we add each time we work on our tree?” I hope that his energy and dedication to the art continue to inspire many across the world.
Many thanks to the members of REBS for hosting and organizing an amazing show. We all look forward to next year’s show! 🌳
