August 10: Styling Demonstration with Adam Toth
Join us on Thursday, August 10 2023, from 7PM - 9PM at the Recreation Room of the San Francisco County Fair Building for Bonsai Artist, Adam Toth. Adam will put on a demonstration styling of the elm shown below.
The elm will be raffled at the end the demonstration—this could be your newest tree!
About Guest Bonsai Artist: Adam Toth
Adam has been studying bonsai seriously for about 7 years now and spent a little over 3 years studying at Taisho-en with Taiga Urushibata San, and received an official shohin certificate from the Japanese Shohin Bonsai Association.
Adam previously studied with Jonas Dupuich at Bonsai Tonight and currently spends a few days a week working at his nursery. During his time in Japan, he spent a lot of time studying and thinking about growing and producing better shohin and small sized trees.
Adam enjoys working on yamadori junipers and hope to continue learning and enjoying this truly unique art form. 🌳

Marin Bonsai Club Sale

We extend an invitation to the entire bonsai community to join us. There will be bonsai trees to add to your collection, pre-bonsai for long term projects, bargains on bonsai pots and tools, scrolls, bonsai stands, and other bonsai related items.
Club members available to advise on purchases. We will accept cash, checks, and credit cards. The proceeds will help fund future club demonstrations and activities.
We look forward to sharing this wonderful and fascinating hobby with you!

The Sierra Bonsai Club will display bonsai and suiseki in the temple as well as outdoors in conjunction with the Placer Buddhist Church Food & Cultural Festival Bazaar all weekend.
Dine in the outdoor covered tents with friends/family, visit cultural booths of food and crafts, bingo, entertainment, & children’s games. A bonsai demonstration will be in the program inside the temple. The bonsai will be auctioned at the completion of the demonstration. Winner must be in attendance.
